Las Vegas Country Club: Course Intelligence
Las Vegas Country Club has operated on a piece of Las Vegas, Nevada near-Strip land just east of the Strip resort corridor since 1967. The course is one of the oldest country clubs in Las Vegas — the city's organized golf landscape developed alongside the post-World War II Strip resort expansion — and the property has hosted multiple PGA Tour Senior events through subsequent decades. The Edmund Ault routing was redesigned multiple times since the original opening, with continuing agronomic-and-architectural updates through the decades.
The course plays around 7,000 yards par 72 from the back markers, with bermuda fairways and a slope in the upper 130s. The fairways play firm given the Las Vegas Valley desert subsoil that drains quickly. The mature landscaping through the property — Las Vegas Country Club has been continuously developed since the 1967 opening — gives the routing a parkland-and-desert character distinct from the modern Las Vegas resort courses. The proximity to the Strip gives the property its distinctive Las Vegas urban-golf setting.
Las Vegas Country Club is private and access is members and accompanied guests only. The membership is regional Las Vegas business, casino-industry, and seasonal-residence families with multi-generation ties through the post-war Las Vegas expansion. The hospitality model is traditional country club, and the property's Strip-adjacent location gives the club its distinct Las Vegas character.
Las Vegas desert climate gives Las Vegas Country Club a playing season of October through May, with the firmest conditions in February and March. Summer afternoons routinely exceed 105°F and the course operates on shortened seasonal hours through June, July, August, and September.
