Trump National Jupiter: Course Intelligence
Jack Nicklaus designed the course at what is now Trump National Jupiter in 2002, when the property was the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa. The ownership and branding changed in 2012 — Donald Trump's organization bought the property and rebranded it — but the Nicklaus routing and the Florida Atlantic coast member roster that came with the original Ritz-Carlton ownership remained largely intact. The course is the home club for a significant number of PGA Tour players who live in the Jupiter–Palm Beach Gardens corridor; the practice facility is built to tour-grade specifications.
The scorecard reads 7,404 yards from the back markers, par 72, with a slope of 150 and a course rating of 76.5. The slope of 150 is high for the yardage — Nicklaus built the course with strategic exposure rather than back-tee length, and the resulting penalty for an off-target tee shot is severe. The four par-3s sit between 168 and 250 yards. The 250-yard fifth is the longest one-shotter on the routing and plays across one of the property's largest water features. The four par-5s range from 546 to 622 yards. The 622-yard seventh is the longest hole on the card.
The number-one handicap is the 422-yard fourth — a par-4 with an approach into a green angled hard right against a Florida-resort water hazard. The 439-yard second-hardest is the par-4 thirteenth; the 448-yard third-hardest is the par-4 sixteenth. The Nicklaus signature throughout the routing is the careful framing — every tee shot has a visible target line and the approach decisions are clear rather than tricked-up, which is what made the original Ritz-Carlton property attractive to the tour-player demographic.
The South Florida climate keeps Trump National Jupiter playable year-round, with the prime window running November through April when the air is dry and the wind moderates. Hurricane and convective storm season runs June through October; rounds get suspended frequently through afternoon play. The course is private and access is members-and-guests only. Walking is allowed; carts are standard.
