Vestavia Country Club

Vestavia Country Club operates on a piece of Vestavia Hills, Alabama Birmingham south-suburban land. The course was designed during the post-World War II expansion of the Birmingham-area country-club landscape and has been redesigned multiple times since with continuing agronomic-and-architectural updates. The club is part of the broader Birmingham-area private-club cluster that includes Country Club of Birmingham (Ross 1926), Mountain Brook Club (Ross 1929), Old Overton, and Greystone.

The course plays around 6,800 yards par 71 from the back markers, with bermuda fairways and a slope in the upper 130s. The fairways play firm given the Alabama Piedmont subsoil. The mature deciduous canopy through the property gives the routing its parkland character. The Vestavia Hills setting — the suburban community that developed around the Vestavia Roman Temple replica — gives the club its distinct Birmingham-area context.

Alabama Piedmont climate gives Vestavia a playing season of March through November, with the firmest conditions in October. Birmingham summers run hot and humid; the smart member play is morning rounds through July and August. The course closes through brief winter cold snaps.
