- Watch the Weather: Afternoon storms can roll in unexpectedly, so be prepared for a quick change in conditions.
Caddie's Bag Check (Weather & Gear)
The weather at Wolf Creek Golf Club can vary, but you can typically expect mild to warm temperatures during the golfing season. Since the area experiences its fair share of humidity, especially in the summer months, a good strategy is to stay cool and prepared. One essential item that can make a world of difference is a set of Cooling Towels. Since the humidity can ramp up on the back nine, having these handy will help you stay refreshed and focused as you finish your round.
Course Heritage & Design
Designed by Dennis Rider and established in 2000 as a Public facility.
An audacious design carved through dramatic desert canyons and towering sandstone cliffs in Mesquite, Nevada. Wolf Creek features extreme elevation changes, forced carries over canyons, and greens perched on cliff edges — one of the most photographed courses in the world.
Signature Holes
Hole 14 (Par 3, 175 yards): A jaw-dropping par 3 playing from one canyon rim to another. The tee shot carries over a 100-foot deep chasm to a green perched on the opposite cliff.
Hole 1 (Par 5, 540 yards): The opening hole descends dramatically from a clifftop tee, dropping hundreds of feet through a canyon to a green far below. One of the most breathtaking opening holes in all of golf.
Hole 5 (Par 3, 165 yards): A short par 3 that plays over a desert canyon with dramatic red rock formations framing the green, looking more like a movie set than a golf hole.
Local Weather Intelligence
Hot desert climate. Summers exceed 110°F and are best avoided. Winter and spring offer comfortable playing conditions with clear skies.
Best months to play: October through April
Wind pattern: Canyon winds can be unpredictable, swirling through the dramatic terrain. Generally light conditions but gusts can funnel through narrow canyon corridors.
Did You Know?
Wolf Creek is regularly ranked among the most visually dramatic courses in the world. The course was built at a cost of over $16 million — an extraordinary sum for a public course in the early 2000s. Every hole offers a postcard-worthy vista of Mesquite's red rock canyon landscape.
💰 Estimated Cost & Value
The green fees at Wolf Creek Golf Club typically fall within the $$$ (Premium, $100-200) range. Considering the unique design and stunning scenery, this course represents some of the best value golf in the region. Players can expect a well-maintained layout that enhances their golfing experience.

The scorecard reflects its complexity, ensuring an engaging experience for players of varying abilities.
